What is a blind date with a book?
Think of it as online dating… but for books.
Instead of choosing a book based on its cover or title, you choose a dating profile based on the kind of story you’re looking for. We’ll then choose a mystery book that we think could be your perfect match.
Your date arrives wrapped up, complete with their dating profile and clues.
No title. No cover. No spoilers.
Just you, your mystery date and the chance to discover a story you might never have picked for yourself.
How does The Blind Date Club work?
It’s simple:
1. Choose your date.
Browse our available dating profiles and find one that catches your eye.
2. Get matched.
We’ll pair you with the mystery book behind that profile.
3. Meet your date.
Your book arrives wrapped up and ready to be discovered, along with your dating profile and little extras.
4. See if there’s chemistry.
Unwrap your book, start reading and see whether it’s love at first page.
Will I know what book I’m getting?
That’s the whole point of a blind date!
We won’t reveal the title or cover before you open your date. You’ll get clues about your match through their dating profile, but the identity of your book will remain a secret until you decide it’s time for the big reveal.
If knowing the book would spoil the fun for you, don’t worry — we won’t give it away.
Are the books new or pre-loved?
Our dates can include both new and pre-loved books. We will state in the item description if it is new or pre-loved
Every book is carefully selected and checked before becoming a member of The Blind Date Club. If a book is pre-loved, it will be clearly stated in the product description.
What if I don't like my date?
Not every date ends in happily ever after.
The whole point of a blind date is discovering something outside your usual choices, so we hope you’ll give your match a chance before making a decision.
But if your date really isn’t your type, get in touch and we’ll do our best to help.
